Our Vision & Approach
By God’s leading and local partnerships, IYS will help others establish strategically positioned self-sustaining teams to encourage, equip, and empower thousands of youth ministers who will impact countless youth around the globe.
Our Bold Vision
- We believe this vision flourishes through Spirit-led collaboration—unity inspired by the Holy Spirit and strengthened by the diversity of life experiences, skills, spiritual gifts, and callings within the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:11–13; Acts 2:42–47).
- Unlike traditional “franchise” or “replication” models that export programs and products, we prioritize partnerships—coming alongside like-minded youth ministers, organizations, networks, and movements to co-create locally grounded, globally connected strategies for ministry impact.
Our Focuses
We organize youth ministry leadership around six core focuses:
Advocating
What is youth ministry and why does it matter? Help others understand why ministry to and through youth is important.
Consulting
What models and methods of youth ministry are contextually & culturally appropriate and how can we help you build them?
Collaborating
What are others doing to advance the kingdom of God and how can we work together and learn from each other?
Researching
What issues matter to young people and how is the gospel holistically relevant to them? What are the best ways to reach them?
Developing
How can we create or co-create timely and culturally appropriate resources which balance principles with practices?
Training
What training is necessary to empower youth ministers to continue to thrive where God has placed and called them to serve?
Our Approach
We care for, collaborate with, and create alongside youth ministry influencers—national and global-level church leaders—to develop strategic, gospel-centered solutions that multiply impact so exponentially more youth can experience God’s transforming grace. We do this best when we help these leaders start, strengthen, scale, and sustain their impact with the next generation. This multiplication approach helps us reach more youth—around the world—with the eternal hope of Christ.
There are 2 billion youth without eternal hope and not enough trained, resourced and supported youth ministers to reach them.
